Hi! I'm Kendall!

I’m originally from Richmond, Virgina, but have spent the last 8 years living and working in Barcelona, Spain. I soon plan to be fully based in London, UK!

I’ve done quite a few jobs over the past 10 years, including (but not limited to):

  • Server / Bartender
  • Tutor / Teacher
  • Event Set-up
  • Editor / Proofreader
  • Front-end Developer

.....and while I believe all of this experience is relevant to what I do now, likely my most relevant experience (technically speaking) is my past +/- 4 years at Tectonica Digital Campaign Solutions, first as a developer, and later for 2 years as Head of Accounts.

“Accounts” at Tectonica were our clients we worked with either on a project-specific basis, or ongoing - with whom we supported their progressive efforts with strategy, creative, and digital solutions to support the consolidation and growth of their supporter base. My work involved managing a team of account managers, and for the organizations I worked with: meeting weekly (often more) with these incredible clients to plan and coordinante work, align expectations (as well as feedback, timelines, & creative direction), facilitate strategy, and develop solutions to support their work

As a developer at Tectonica I worked primarily on Nationbuilder and Jamstack websites - such as:

As Head of Accounts at Tectonica I collaborated with clients on exciting work such as:

  • UNI Global Union
    • Specifically starting up their fundraising initiative, managing design and web deliverables for their international Congress, and helping plan an email ladder for the event as well
  • Parti Socialiste
  • Milieudefensie
    • For the Dutch chapter of “Friends of the Earth” I led the management and coordination for the launch of their new Veranderaars (Changemakers) website, and managed the work our team did with theirs for grassroots organizing across various platforms and mediums.

For more projects I've worked on in more detail - see here ➝

I care deeply about progressive causes and love working with people who believe in a better, more equitable world. I’m specifically interested in labor and economic justice, and more generally grassroots and community organizing and capacity-building. I also know from experience that there are a few soft, but key skills, that make the work of non-profits, unions, and agents of change smoother and more effective, such as clear and compassionate communication and coordination, thorough planning, and diverse and inclusive input and participation from stakeholders. I also know that often this field is under-resourced, and that the work can take a pound of flesh from those working in it - which is why I am a strong advocate for realistic (while still aspirational) labor standards and flexibility wherever and whenever there is room.
